Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, a Nigerian artist, lost all seven of his nominations for the 2023 BET Awards on Tuesday.
He was nominated for “Hip-Hop Artiste of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” “Best Hip-Hop Video,” “Best Collaboration,” “Best Live Performer,” “Lyricist of the Year,” and “Hustler of the Year.”
The prize, which will be presented on October 3, 2023, at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center, was then televised Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, American singer and rapper, Kendrick Lamar, emerged as the night’s biggest winner, taking home four prizes.
Lamar won “Hip-Hop artiste of the Year”, “Lyricist of the Year”, “Best Live Performer”, and “Video Director of the Year”
