Ahead of the Nov. 11 Kogi Governorship Election, the All Progressives Congress, APC, has suspended its campaign till further notice.
The campaign was put on hold out of respect for Ms. Khadijat Yahaya, a party member who passed away following an attack by alleged thugs.
This was said in a statement released on Tuesday by Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, a representative for the State Campaign Council.
After an altercation between the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and APC supporters in Kotonkarfe on September 29, Khadijat is said to have died.
Alhaji Usman Ododo, the state’s APC governorship candidate, paid a visit to the deceased’s family on Tuesday in Kotonkarfe to express his condolences for her passing.
Ododo expressed astonishment at her passing and asked God to grant her soul peace.
