Coalition Set to Partner with Kaduna Ministry to Ensure Zero Gender Violence | METROWATCH

A Civil Society Coalition Against Sexual and Gender Base Violence (SGVB) has asked Kaduna State Ministry of Human Services and Social Development for a strong collaborative relationships in ensuring a zero gender violence in the State.

This was contained in a statement obtained by Metrowatch on Friday, noting that the partnership is also to ensure that Children walk freely, women roam happily and everyone within the State to have a delicious taste of tranquil living.

The statement reads in part; “We received with open heart a delegation of Civil Society Coalition Against Sexual and Gender Base Violence (SGVB).

“The delegation’s purpose of the visit was to congratulate the honourable commissioner Hajia Rabi Salisu on her recent appointment as the commissioner of Human Services and Social Development, and to also introduce the vision and mission of their coalition.

“Their sole vision is to have a Kaduna with zero gender base violence, where the survivors will be empowered as a compensation of what they went through emotionally and the perpetrators will be brought to book.

“The delegations further added that they need a society that will thrive freely and safely, where children will have the freedom to roam every nook of their society without an iota fear of molestation by pedophiles, and women will step anywhere without being sexually harassed by the licentious men, we centered all our mandate to come in line with that of Ministry of Human Services and Social Development.

“Furthermore, the delegation forwarded their request of wanting to partner with the ministry and work together in every thick and thin of situation. They want to have a strong collaborative relationships to support and give the commissioner and her ministry all their backing in ensuring a zero gender violence in the state. And ensure that Children walk freely, women roam happily and everyone within the state to have a delicious taste of tranquil living.

“The Commissioner of Human Services and Social Development Hajia Rabi Salisu, welcomed and appreciated the delegations on their visit and stated in her presentation that the Ministry Is willing to work in collaboration with the organization to achieve their goal and ensure a lasting relationship that will benefit the good people of Kaduna State. She has emphasized on bringing the perpetrator and culprit of every form of gender violence to book and ensure justice is served justly.

“She included that rape cases are of much care whereby culprit must be apprehended and punished. At the end she wish and pray that they achieved their aims and objectives without hindrance,” the statement added.
