The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ika Federal Constituency, Delta State, has passed a vote of confidence on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Party anchored its decision on the exceptional political leadership President Tinubu has offered the nation since inauguration, expressing satisfaction over how Mr. President had piloted the affairs of the country within the short period of his administration.
According to the Party, President Tinubu had displayed both political sagacity and economic savviness in the way and manner he had taken far-reaching decisions and implemented policies that are wont to radically transform the socio-economic landscapes in no distant time.
The vote of confidence was passed during an enlarged meeting of the federal constituency on Saturday in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, to receive the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Chairman-Designate, Barrister Chiedu Ebie, who hails from the area.
Some stalwarts and stakeholders of the Party who spoke during the well-attended meeting described Chiedu Ebie as a rare breed technocrat with a track record of performance and excellence in public office, and expressed optimism that he would raise the NDDC bar.
They also lauded President Tinubu for finding their own worthy to occupy such an exalted office at a critical moment in the region’s and, by extension, nation’s history.
In his response, Ebie thanked the party faithful for turning out in their number to receive him and his entourage.
He enjoined the federal constituency to eternally remain grateful to Mr. President for zeroing in on the area in appointing a Chairman for NDDC, pledging to justify the confidence reposed in him and other members of the NDDC Board.
“I’m essentially here to urge you to join me to thank Mr. President for this great honour done us as a people. When we are eventually screened and confirmed by the National Assembly, be assured that I will not let Mr. President who appointed me down, nor will I let my federal constituency down. I’ll discharge my assignment with the same passion, vigour and commitment that I brought to bear on my previous appointments”, he assured.
Those that attended are; the LGA Chairmen and Exco members of the two Ika LGAs, all Ward Chairmen in the two LGAs, the Zonal, Senatorial and State Officers from the Federal Constituency.
Others are some very prominent leaders of the APC from the Federal Constituency.
