Alhaji Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation, has promised Nigerians that he will inform them of the truth about official plans and initiatives.
The Minister spoke at an event organized to welcome him and the Ministers of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy and that of Tourism, at the National Press Centre, Abuja.
Alhaji Idris said the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation will be open, honest, and responsible in its public dealings as he returned to work at Radio House, the Ministry’s headquarters, on Monday.
He reassured Nigerians of his commitment to seeing that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda succeeds.
In addition to disseminating information, he highlighted that national orientation will be at the center of the Ministry’s responsibility. He warned Nigerians against spreading false information and urged journalists to double-check their sources before disseminating their stories.
“We will always respond to your inquiries, but please do not share fake news,” he said.
