The new Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Barr. Nyesom Wike, has promised to sanitise the nation’s capital, vowing not to spare any building built illegally in the FCT.

“People who are distorting the master plan of Abuja, your houses will go down,” Wike said while addressing journalists shortly after his inauguration as FCT Minister by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He said buildings in green areas in the FCT will be brought down while also serving notice to those who have uncompleted buildings in the nation’s capital to either complete them or the Government take possession of them.

”People who have built on green areas, your houses will go down,” the fierce and outspoken immediate-past Rivers State Governor warned, vowing to step on toes as long as he is doing the “right thing.”

Wike warned that the era of impunity in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is over, urging all those involved in illegality in the nation’s capital to ”pack up and go.”

He, however, thanked President Tinubu for the confidence he has in him to put him in such a strategic position as the FCT Minister, vowing to repay his faith.
