President Bola Tinubu has commended the Super Falcons’s effort following their loss to England via penalty shoot-out in the Round of 16 on Monday.
Tinubu shared a picture of the team on his Twitter handle saying, “ I must commend the effort by our Super Falcons #NGSuper_Falcons at the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Your brilliant performance did not go unnoticed despite the final outcome. You made Nigeria proud on the global stage!”
England beat Nigeria 4-2 on penalties on Monday to reach the quarter-finals of the Women’s World Cup after their last-16 tie finished 0-0 at the end of extra time.
The quarter-final stages will take place on Friday and Saturday.
