President Bola Tinubu has withdrawn the ministerial nomination of Dr Mariam Shetty, a nominee from Kano State, replacing her with Dr. Maigari Mahmud, also from Kano.
He also nominated former Spokesperson for the Bola Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council and immediate-past Minster of State for Labour, Barr. Festus Keyamo, from Delta State.
The nomination of Keyamo now takes the total number of ministerial nominees to 48.
President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio read out a letter from President Tinubu to that effect at Friday’s plenary session.
Earlier, Shetty’s nomination was greeted by mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media, particularly, X, formerly Twitter.
