Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been urged to keep playing in the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup competition in Australia by Arsenal icon Kanu Nwankwo.
The former Nigerian international made this comment in response to the Super Falcons’ 3-2 victory over the FIFA World Cup hosts Australia on Thursday.
The Super Falcons overcame Australia at Suncorp Stadium thanks to goals from Uchenna Kanu, Osinachi Ohale, and Asisat Oshoala.
Emily van Egmond and Alanna Kennedy also scored for Australia against Randy Waldrum’s side.
Reacting, Kanu, in a tweet on his Twitter handle, congratulated the Super Falcons.
Congratulations, our super falcons, we keep going,” Kanu tweeted.
The Super Falcons will now face the Republic of Ireland in their last Group B encounter next Monday.
