After attending the 5th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union, or AU, which took place in Kenya over the weekend, President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja, the nation’s capital.

On Monday at 4:20 pm, his jet arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, was one among the officials that flocked to the airport to greet him.

Others were Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State, the chief of staff to the president, Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo, and Femi Gbajabiamila.

As the Chairman of the Authority of the Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), President Tinubu attended the conference.

He had left on Saturday to travel to Kenya.

At the Nairobi gathering, Tinubu emphasized the need of maintaining Africa’s power and unity while rejecting the idea of a fresh race for the continent.

In an effort to prevent coups and terrorism on the continent, Tinubu has also stated ambitions to strengthen the ECOWAS Standby Force.
