Senator Abubakar Kyari, Deputy National Chairman (North) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has emerged as acting National Chairman of the party.

Similarly, Festus Fuanter from Plateau State, the Deputy National Secretary of the APC, is now acting National Secretary of the ruling party.

Their emergence followed the reported resignation of the former occupants of the seats, Abdullahi Adamu and Iyiola Omisore as Chairman and Secretary respectively.

On Monday, Kyari presided over an emergency meeting of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s national secretariat, in Abuja.

While Adamu was absent, Omisore who was among the early birds, was however denied entry into the meeting venue.

At the end of the meeting, Kyari announced the resignation of Adamu and Omisore as National Chairman and Secretary of the ruling party respectively.
