A raid on a drug joint in Delta State by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Thursday turned tragic when a two-year-old boy, Ivan Omorhiakogbe, was killed by stray bullet.

METROWATCHXTRA.COM gathered that the incident occurred at Okapanam road, Asaba, in the Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta, during the raid by the NDLEA operatives in the area.

Ivan’s younger brother, Eromonsele Omorhiakogbe, who was also injured during the incident on Thursday, is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

It was gathered that the two-year-old boy was killed by the stray bullet while his younger brother was injured in the eye during the raid by the NDLEA officers.

A human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, who narrated the story, said the children were with their mother at their shop that fateful day when the stray bullet hit and killed little Ivan.

Both brothers were rushed to the Emergency Ward of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba for treatment but unfortunately, Ivan could not make it.

Ivan’s brother, who was injured in the eye, has been moved to an eye clinic for treatment.
