In what appears to be a subtle warning, the Guinness World Records (GWR) has told Nigerians that ‘enough is enough’ with record-breaking attempts, amidst the surge by the citizens in attempting to break world records.

The warning came after a Nigerian lady took to her Twitter handle, @livingwithajoke, to announce that she would be attempting to break the world records for “idea-a-thon” and “puff-a-thon”, while tagging GWR to the post.

‘I’m coming for the idea-a-thon and puff-a-thon titles. Get ready!,” she tweeted, to which GWR replied, “Please enough with the record-a-thons” almost immediately.

Earlier, the Guinness World Records in a statement on its verified Twitter handle, advised people to first get a record title approved by the GWR team before any marathon is attempted.

“We love the record-a-thon enthusiasm but we would suggest getting a record title approved by our team before attempting these marathon records!”, GWR wrote.
