Rev. Dr Stephen Mamza, the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Adamawa Chapter, has felicitates with Muslims on Eid-el-Kabir Sallah celebration.
Mamza, who is also the Catholic Bishop of Yola, sent his congratulations in a statement issued to newsmen in Yola on Wednesday.
He said every religious festival is an invitation for all, especially well meaning members of the human family, to a sober reflection on what needs to be done for peace and solidarity to reign supreme.
“The Eid-el-Kabir is indeed an invitation for us to reflect on the importance of what we need to sacrifice in order to ensure that as humans we are filled with pride and happiness.
“Being a feast of sacrifice and humility, therefore, I see this celebration as an opportunity for us to be selfless so as to be guided in harnessing our diversity for the growth of our country Nigeria,” he stated.
According to him, to realise this, there is need for men and women who not minding their religious or political affiliations, seek to work for the common good of the society.
“As I congratulate you on this great celebration, therefore, I assure you, on behalf of all Christians of Adamawa State, of our readiness to cooperate with you as we seek to make Nigeria one great nation where the potentials of citizens are cherished and utilised for nation building.
“Once again, I send you and your loved ones my friendly best wishes during this great period of sacrifice and humility. Happy Eid-el-Kabir,” he said. (NAN)
