With over 25 million streams so far, the Guinness World Records (GWR) has declared that its story on Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, is the Record’s all-time best performing tweet in its entire history.
Recall that the 26-year-old Nigerian chef was on Tuesday, June 13, certified by the Guinness World Records as the latest holder for longest cooking by an individual.
Baci, whose full name is Hilda Effiong Bassey, from May 11 to 15, cooked for 100 hours non-stop, breaking India’s Lata Tondon’s 87 hours, 45 minutes record of uninterrupted cooking in the process.
“After reviewing all the footage, we’re delighted to announce that Hilda Baci is the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon (individual),” GWR had announced on June 13.
Hours later, the international organisation announced that Hilda Baci’s fans crashed its website at the height of expectations for the announcement of her record.
When the announcement was finally released via a short video on the world record body’s Twitter handle, Nigerians swooped on the result and engaged with it massively.
On Thursday, GWR said the tweet made to announce Baci as the latest world record holder for the longest cook-a-thon has now reached over 25 million people, saying the story went seriously viral.
Quoting its previous tweet, the Guinness World Record said, “Yeah, so this is our best-performing tweet of all time with nearly 25 million news feeds reached.”
