When asked why he left Paris Saint-Germain after two years, Lionel Messi claimed it was because he was unhappy there.
This comes after Messi’s signing with Inter Miami on Wednesday was officially revealed.
The World Cup champion from Argentina spoke with Spanish media source Mundo Deportivo in order to address concerns about this potential future.
In the interview, the 35-year-old opened up on his time at PSG, insisting that his family was affected because he was not happy at the French Ligue 1 champions.
“These were two years at PSG in which I was not happy, I did not enjoy myself, and that affected my family life,” Messi said.
“I’m at a moment where I want to get out of focus a bit and think more about my family. The last two years haven’t been so well for my family,” he added.
Messi joined PSG on a free transfer back in the summer of 2021.
