President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, inaugurated Senator George Akume as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
Akume took the oath of allegiance and oath office at about 11:06 a.m. at the swearing-in ceremony which took place in the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja.
The brief ceremony was witnessed by Vice-President, Kashim Shettima; Senate President, Ahmed Lawan; Kwara Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan and wife of the new SGF, Mrs. Regina Akume.
Tinubu had last Friday officially named Akume, immediate-past Minister of Special Duties and former Benue State Governor, as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
The President equally named the current Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, as his Chief of Staff and Sen. Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, a former Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, as Deputy.
