The Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU) and the Assembly of Healthcare Professional Associations (AHPA) have suspended their indefinite strike for 21 days.

This comes following the meeting the leadership of the Unions had with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Announcing the suspension of the industrial action, JOHESU’s Acting National Secretary, Matthew Ajirotu, said the approval was given by the union’s president following the appeal from Tinubu to meet their demands.

Recall that President Tinubu had in the meeting with the union leaders on Monday, urged JOHESU, an affiliate of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), which has been on strike to return to work.
