Tems won Best Melodica Rap Performance at the 65th Grammy Awards on February 6, 2023, according to Metrowatchxtra.com
She won for her work on Future’s ‘Wait For U,’ which also featured Drake.
Muyiwa Awoniyi, her manager, announced the plaque’s arrival on Friday via his Instagram account.
He displayed the Grammy prize trophy on his Instagram account with no caption.
Tems is the first female Nigerian musician to receive a Grammy nomination.
She is also the first female Nigerian singer to receive a Grammy nomination. Last year, she was nominated for Best Global Performance for her smash song ‘Essence’ alongside Wizkid, but she lost to Pakistan’s Arooj Aftab.
