President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently meeting behind closed doors with the nation’s Service Chiefs at the State House, Abuja, marking his first official engagement with the security heads since assuming office on Monday, 29th May.
The service chiefs: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao; and the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba, were led by the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor.
At the meeting, the service chiefs including the police IG are expected to brief Tinubu and keep the President abreast with the state of the nation’s security, as the new Nigerian leader.
In his inaugural address on Monday, Tinubu had promised Nigerians that security would be top priority for his administration.
