The Defence Minister of India, Mr. Rajinath Singh, will be leading India’s delegation to the inauguration of the President-elect, Bola Tinibu on Monday in Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja.

India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, had detailed Singh as a special envoy to Nigeria for the ceremony in a letter obtained by NAN.

Singh is expected to arrive in the Federal Capital Territory on Sunday, ahead of the inauguration.

The minister, according to the letter, will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising senior officials from the Ministry of Defence and that of the Ministry of External Affairs of India.

“The visit of Mr Rajnath Singh reflects the growing bilateral relations between India and Nigeria and signifies India’s commitment to strengthening ties with Nigeria.
