All schools in Edo State will resume for the third term 2022/2023 academic session on Tuesday April 25, 2023, METROWATCHXTRA.COM can authoritatively report.
A top government official in the State Ministry of Education confirmed this to METROWATCHXTRA on Friday in Benin City, the state capital.
The official said that teaching and learning activities would commence immediately on Tuesday in all the various schools across the state.
According to the official, the state was operating a uniformed time-table for all public and private schools.
“School heads and teachers have been mandated to ensure that they complied with the directive, as the Ministry would lead officials to monitor the level of compliance,” the official said.
It was reliably gathered that Inspectors of Education in the 18 Local Government Areas in the state, have been deployed in monitoring the resumption of schools.
METROWATCHXTRA.COM recalls that the state government had earlier announced Monday 24th April as resumption date for schools. Meanwhile, the one-day shift in date is due to the Eid-el-Fitr holiday which ends on Monday 24th.
