All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker-elect representing Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode Federal Constituency, Dr Billy Osawaru, has been presented with his Certificate of Return (CoR) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
METROWATCHXTRA.COM reports that the presentation ceremony took place on Wednesday at the national headquarters of INEC, in Abuja.
The lawmaker-elect was accompanied by Hon Dennis Idahosa, APC lawmaker representing Ovia South West/North East Federal Constituency, who was equally re-elected for a second term on 25th February, 2023.
Speaking to journalist after receiving his certificate, Osawaru expressed gratitude to God for the victory at the polls and thanked the leadership of the APC at the National, State and Local Government levels.
He also expressed gratitude to the good people of Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode Federal Constituency for the confidence reposed in him by voting for him and his party, the APC, during the last Saturday’s supplementary election.
The lawmaker-elect promised not to disappoint the people of his constituency but vowed to do his possible best in offering quality representation to the people, state and nation at large.
He said his desire to serve at the National Assembly has been a dream which he is glad that God has made it come to pass.
Osawaru was declared the winner of the April 15, 2023 National Assembly re-run election for Orhionmwon/Uhunmwonde Federal Constituency by INEC after polling the highest number of valid votes cast.
He defeated a former speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly and candidate of Labour Party (LP), Elizabeth Ativie, who came second; and current deputy speaker of the House and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Roland Asoro, who came third.
