The Lagos State Ministry of Education has extended the payment and registration deadline for the Year 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination to April 28.
This is stated in a statement sent to the media on Thursday in Lagos by Mr. Orunsolu Adebayo, Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board.
“The Examinations Board wishes to inform Public Junior Secondary Schools, approved Private Junior Secondary and Special Schools that deadline for Payment and Registration for the Year 2023 BECE earlier fixed for April 14 has been extended to April 28 2023,” Adebayo said.
According to the statement, the extension became necessary owing to the difficulties experienced by schools as a result of the network problem, as well as the present economic realities.
“The hitches also range from Central Bank cashless policy which made the processes cumbersome for most schools, and epileptic Network Services, hence the decision,”.
Adebayo went on to say that the extension allows most accredited private and special schools in the state that have yet to register their candidates to do so.
The Board, according to the Director, does not want to deny any school or its applicants the opportunity to take the examination.
“To this end, the Examinations Board, therefore, implores all affected schools to use this opportunity as excuses will not be entertained after the expiration of the new date,” he added.
