The Commandant General (CG) of NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Audi, has warned all personnel of the Corps against any form of partisanship during Saturday’s supplementary elections.
Audi gave the warning in a statement by NSCDC Director, Public Rations, Mr Olusola Odumosu on Friday in Abuja.
The CG also warned that any personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) caught tarnishing the image of the organisation will be dismissed.
“Anyone found wanting should consider himself or herself dismissed, as the Corps will not condone or harbor any criminal elements within its fold.
“Ensure that you remain neutral, patriotic, apolitical, and unbiased, and on no account must you be seen working for any politician or party, but only for national interest,” he added.
Audi ordered massive deployment of personnel to states where the supplementary election will hold, to protect critical national assets and forestall any breach of the peace.
He directed Commandants in the affected states to deploy personnel and equipment to black spots, volatile points and polling units, for effective security during the election.
Audi also directed officers and men of the corps to work in synergy with other security agencies in ensuring effective security before, during and after the election.
The CG urged voters to go out en-masse and elect candidates of their choice in a lawful and orderly manner.
The NSCDC boss advised politicians to be law abiding and display sportsmanship during and after the election.
Audi emphasised that they should not regard election as a do or die affair, adding that no political office is worth the blood of any Nigerian. (NAN)
