This weekend, the dramatic crawl to the end of this Premier League campaign continues.

From Manchester to London, fixtures that will decide a lot of things across the table will be played.

What would be the five talking points?

1. Man Utd’s form to continue: Only in February, Manchester United were regarded as title contenders. However, March proved to be disastrous for the Red Devils. In a month, they were thrashed 7-0 at Liverpool, they failed to record a single goal in the league. However, Marcus Rashford’s winner against Brentford in midweek saw them start April with a win. And they’d be looking to continue when Everton visit in Saturday’s early kick-off.

2. Lampard’s return: One week after Graham Potter oversaw a limp 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge, the Blues have a new man in charge. He’s not exactly new though. Frank Lampard will steer the ship until the end of the season, having been sacked by Roman Abramovich in January 2021. His first game is away to Wolves and fans will be hoping to see some bounce.

3. City to close gap: During his press conference on Friday, Pep Guardiola warned that they have to keep winning to stand any chance of catching Arsenal. It was a message worth reiterating ahead of their trip to Southampton, as City players could have one eye on their Champions League quarter-final first leg against Bayern. Southampton dumped the champions out of the Carabao Cup. And that should be enough warning.

4. Arsenal’s Anfield hoodoo: The last time Arsenal won at Anfield, Mikel Arteta was still playing for the Gunners. But for the first time, they go to Liverpool with a huge chance of picking up points. A win for the league leaders would mean they complete the double over Jurgen Klopp’s men this season and set the tone for their final fixtures.

5. Spurs vs Brighton: This London Derby on Saturday could also be a Champions League spot decider. Spurs are just outside the top four with 50 points, three less than Manchester United and Newcastle. But Brighton are in sixth with 46 points. If Roberto Di Zerbi’s men are able to get all three points, they will force themselves into the conversation for Champions League football.
