The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South South zone, has commended the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) for its ”wise handling” of the embattled national chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu’s suspension saga and the subsequent assumption of office by the Deputy National Chairman (North), Alhaji Iliya Umar as Acting National Chairman.

The zone also said it was in support of the decision of the NWC to reverse the earlier decision suspending prominent leaders and members — including former Secretary to Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim; Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state and Ekiti ex-governor, Ayodele Fayose — “without due process.”

The PDP zonal leadership also congratulated all newly elected Governors, Senators, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly Members in the South-South zone under the platform of the party, while calling for amicable resolution of all lingering crisis bedeviling the PDP at all level.
