The Delta State House of Assembly, yesterday, slammed an indefinite suspension on the Executive Chairman, Ndokwa East Local Government Council, Mr. Amechi Juan Governor on allegations of official mismanagement.

The suspension order which was pronounced at Tuesday’s resumed plenary by the Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ochor Christopher Ochor was sequel to an allegation of Financial misappropriation, revealing of official secrets, among others as alleged by councillors representing the council.

The allegation, Our correspondent reports, was contained in a letter addressed to the State House of Assembly as signed by no fewer than 15 councillors in the council area.

In the letter read by the Deputy Speaker of the State Legislature, the council legislators sought the removal of the council boss over alleged financial irregularities.

Following the development, the House at Tuesday’s Plenary constituted a 5-man ad hoc committee to investigate the allegations.

The 5-man committee which is led by Hon. Anthony Elekeokwuri as Chairman, has Hons. Princess Pat Ajudua, Kenneth Preyor, Rueben Izeze as members, while the Deputy Clerk, Mr. Otto Aghoghophia would serve as secretary.

Consequently, the House ordered that the Vice Chairman, Princess Josephine Bardi Odu should take the affairs of the council pending the outcome of the two-weeks investigation.

The committee is to report back in the next two weeks.
