Sim Fubara, governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, has won his local government, Opobo-Nkoro, in yesterday’s gubernatorial election in the state.
Fubara polled 11,538 votes ahead of All Progressives Congress (APC) 1,426; Social Democratic Party (SDP), 159; Accord Party (AP), 16; and Labour Party (LP)’s 10 votes.
Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Magnus Abe, however, lost his local government, Gokana to the ruling PDP in the state.
While Abe polled 13,840 votes in the LGA, PDP’s Fubara got 17,455 votes to win the LGA; with APC coming third with 7,410 votes ahead of LP, 97; and Accord, 74 votes.
