Fear seems to be gripping members of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ogun State as the incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun and Ladi Adebutu, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Saturday’s governorship election, are in tight race.
While many of the opposition PDP members were seen celebrating their lead, some members of the ruling APC in the state said the race between the duo was dicey.
As at the time of filing this report, the APC was leading with narrow margin in Atan local government area, a major stronghold of the ruling party.
Unconfirmed results across the state, however, revealed that Adetubu was leading.
PDP members, who believed Adebutu had won, were seen congratulating themselves.
But Abiodun, in a tweet on his official handle, @dabiodunMFR, at about 10pm yesterday assured his supporters that there was no cause for alarm.
His words: “With the look of things, it is safe to tell our well-wishers ‘e lo fokan bale’ DA 4+4 is sacrosanct!”
