Senator representing Enugu East Senatorial District and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Saturday’s rescheduled national assembly election, Chimaroke Nnamani, has lost his return bid to the red chambers.
He lost to the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Kelvin Chukwu, younger brother to the murdered erstwhile LP candidate for the senatorial election, who was only nominated two weeks ago to replace his late brother.
Nnamani, a former governor of the state, polled 48,701 votes to emerge second, while Chukwu of the LP, who was declared winner of the election by INEC with 69,136 votes.
