The “Obidient Movement,” according to social media personality Reno Omokri and a senior advisor to former president Goodluck Jonathan, is irrational.
On Sunday, he announced this on his official Twitter account.
In spite of the Obidient Movement’s strength, Omokri, a well-known supporter of Atiku Abubakar, the People Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in the 25 February election, stressed that it is not a nationwide movement.
“If Nigeria must survive and thrive, we need national movements. The Obidient Movement is a powerful force. But it is not a national movement. It is not even rational. That is why when you disagree with an Obidient, insults are to be expected”, he posted.
A portion of Peter Obi’s fans call themselves the “Obidient Movement.” Peter Obi is the Labour Party’s nominee for president.
The Movement has contributed to the Labour Party’s popularity and its electoral victories in the most recent election, particularly in displacing Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the winner of the presidential election, in his state.
Tinubu’s win is presently being contested at the Presidential Election Tribunal by Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar.
