The Department of State Services (DSS) has alerted the general public that it has formally joined social media and created official handles for the agency.
A statement by Peter Afunanya, spokesman for the DSS, on Monday, listed the handles to include; Twitter:@OfficialDSSNG, Facebook: OfficialDSSNG and Instagram: @OfficialDSSNG.
Similarly, the secret police’s spokesman’s Twitter handle was listed as, @DrAfunanya_PNA. Hitherto, the DSS did not own or operate any social media account.
According to the DSS, its decision to formally join social media with effect from 6th March, 2023 is to enhance public and stakeholder engagements.
“The public should be guided and NOTE that any such handles before now were/are FAKE, please,” the statement added.
