The Spokesman, Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), Mr Ikenga Ugochinyere has commended the people of Ideato North/Ideato South Federal Constituency for electing him member of the House of Representatives.
Ugochinyere, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ideato Federal Constituency in Imo, lauded the process that produced him as winner of the election.
His commendation was contained in a statement in Abuja on Monday, after being declared winner of the seat, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Ugochinyere polled 13,026 votes to beat the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Mr Chika Abazu who scored 2,368 and the Labour Party’s (LP) candidate, Mr Pascal Obi who garnered 5,696 votes.
“My victory is a thing of joy to my constituents because in the build up to the election, I went through a lot,” he said.
He described his victory, as a victory not only for him but PDP family and his constituents.
Ugochinyere thanked God for his victory, and dedicated it to his late Uncle Daniel Ikeagwuonu and two others who were killed on Jan. 14 in his Akokwa country home.
He commended the people of Ideato and all Nigerians for their solidarity with him.
