The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has won two Senatorial seats in Edo State during the just concluded Saturday February 25, 2023 presidential and national assembly elections.

metrowatchxtra reports that the party won both the Edo North and Central senatorial districts, while Labour Party (LP) clinched on to the Edo South senatorial seat.

The APC had former Governor Adams Oshiomhole and Monday Okpebholo as candidates for Edo North and Central zones respectively. LP’s Barr. Neda Imasuen defeated APC’s Valentine Asuen (DVD) to win the Edo South seat.

The wins leave the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state – who hitherto occupied both the Edo South and Central senatorial zones – with no single senatorial seat in the next National Assembly.
