The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has mourned the passing of the President of the Benin Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BENCCIMA), Pharm. (Mrs.) Aina Omo-Ojeonu.
In a statement, the governor hailed the contributions of Mrs. Omo-Ojeonu to the development of the business community in the State, describing her as an “illustrious entrepreneur who carved a niche for breaking new grounds and inspiring young people in business.”
Obaseki said, “I received the sad news of the passing of the President of the Benin Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BENCCIMA), Pharm. (Mrs.) Aina Omo-Ojeonu, with great shock.
“She was a strong pillar in the business community, whose remarkable contributions to supporting the development of women businesses in Edo State remains indelible. She participated actively in the medical and pharmaceutical field, running public and private businesses with a rare knack that set her apart from the crowd.
“Pharm. Omo-Ojeonu led BENCCIMA creditably and brought her wealth of experience in piloting the affairs of the chamber.”
The governor celebrated her illustrious legacies and noted that she would be remembered for her courage and determination to engender inclusion and equality in the business community in the state.
He commiserated with her immediate family and prayed that God grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
