Former Nigerian lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has insisted Nigerians should be allowed to elect their president.
The statement was contained in a post via his verified Twitter handle on Thursday.
His reaction followed President Muhammadu Buhari’s address to Nigerians concerning the Naira redesign policy.
Buhari ordered that the N200 denomination be restored into circulation.
The president also said the Naira redesign policy would help curb vote buying in the forthcoming election.
Sani, agreeing with Buhari, said political power should neither be bought nor sold.
He tweeted, “The next Nigerian President should emerge through a voting process and not a bidding process. Political power should neither be bought nor sold.
“Sharing money to electorates for votes is not democracy; this is the time to put an end to it.”
