President Muhammadu Buhari will address Nigerians via a national broadcast at 7 am on Thursday, February 16, 2023.

This is according to a statement issued by Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Femi Adesina, Wednesday night.

He enjoined Television, radio stations and other media outlets to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and Radio Nigeria for the broadcast.

Although the reason for the broadcast or what would be addressed by the president was not stated, Buhari is, however, expected to speak on naira scarcity and extend the deadline for the Central Bank’s cash swap policy amid the growing hardship on the citizens.

metrowatchxtra.com recalls that President Buhari had recently asked Nigerians to give him seven days to address the issues amid the growing call by some governors and other stakeholders for the policy to be temporarily suspended.

Adesina said, “Television, radio stations and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and Radio Nigeria for the broadcast.”
