Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has called out the management of Chrisland Schools over the allegation that Whitney Adeniran, who is one of their students, died of electrocution during the school inter-house sport at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.
In a statement released by the school, the school said that it is in their records that Whitney had complained about not-too-buoyant health and they immediately contacted her parents.
A viral WhatsApp voice note, purportedly from a student in the school, claimed that Whitney died of electrocution and not of a prior health problem.
The actress took to her Instagram account on Sunday and called out the school for the truth saying, “#chrislandinsta You need to come out & tell Whitney’s parents the truth about their daughter’s death. The negligence from your school is appalling.
“There is a Whatsapp audio circulating that she died as a result of electrocution. Can you confirm or deny? Did you not vet the vendors at your event to make sure they came with child proof equipment? You knew the child was dead before sending her to a ‘health centre’ and sent the mother on a wild goose chase to look for her child without accompanying her.
“The actual audacity to be irresponsible. The fact that you went ahead with the event when one of your students just died reeks of a lack of empathy. #jidesanwoolu #nigerianpoliceforce Kindly look into this urgently.”
