The Court of Appeal in Kano on Friday (today) sacked Mohammed Abacha as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kano State.
In its ruling, a three-man panel led by Justice Usman Musale set aside the judgment of a High Court that recognised Abacha as the PDP candidate for the March 11, 2023 gubernatorial poll in the state.
The court held that Sadiq Wali, who was earlier recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), remains the valid governorship candidate.
According to the court, Abachi had no locus standi to challenge the primary that produced Wali since he never participated in the primary election.
