Mary Edochie, also known as May Edochie, the first wife of Nollywood actor and director Yul Edochie, has filed a lawsuit against actress Sarah Chukwukere for using a photoshopped image of actress Judy Austin in a family portrait.
On Saturday, May shared the complaint filing on her Instagram page, noting that she had asked her attorneys to launch a suit against Sarah Chukwukere, aka @officialsarahmartins, for uploading a modified photograph of her and her children.
She wrote: “It is demeaning and inconsiderate to smear anyone, especially someone you barely knew. I’ve always had a loving, joyful, and peaceful family. I worked tirelessly for years, building a beautiful home while managing several businesses successfully.
“It is evident that some persons have deliberately and desperately tried to taint my reputation and “change the narrative” to suit their agenda. To me, this is unacceptable.”
She warned anybody who would dare to do the same that her lawyer would be delighted to lunch with anyone who does not stop defamatory publications or character assassination.
May’s complaint requested a public apology and the retraction of the alleged defamatory publication, and she threatened to sue for N500 million in damages if Sarah did not satisfy the demands.
Remember how, during the 2022 Christmas season, May took to Instagram to share photographs of her four children while wishing her admirers a Merry Christmas?
Sarah Chukwukere later photoshopped Yul, his second wife Judy Austin, and their infant child into May’s portrait.
Reacting to this, Yul wrote: “Yes, oo Sarah. Beautiful family. As it should be. Blessed man with blessed family. Everybody will be living in peace, love and jolly. May Zukwanuike.”
Also, the actor had earlier boasted that he’s “proud to be a polygamist.”
