The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has stated again that it is prepared to protect internal security prior to, during, and beyond the 2023 election.

The security service gave its word that officers and men would guard everyone nationwide, including voters.

Usman Baba, the Inspector General of Police, provided the assurance on Friday in Abuja.

Among other things, the IGP examined water cannons, armored personnel carriers (APC), and anti-riot weaponry.

The newly-acquired equipment and vehicles would be distributed to commands and formations for the general polls.

“Non-state actors, criminals, and political thugs are warned to sue for peace. We need peace, we deserve peace in Nigeria.
