At a recent Old Trafford game, Marcus Rashford said it was a great moment for him to match Wayne Rooney’s record of eight consecutive goalscoring games.
Rashford, who has been hitting goals with regularity lately, was speaking after being named United’s December Player of the Month. The player has now matched Rooney’s 2010 record run for the twenty-first century.
He won the honor ahead of Casemiro and Luke Shaw.
The United striker claimed that Rooney’s attitude to the game was something he idolized growing up.
“He was one of my heroes growing up and someone that I always used to enjoy watching, probably not just because he’s a top player but just his personality on the pitch.
“They were the things that appealed to me when I was younger and watching him,” Rashford told MUTV.
