Ten people were injured on Friday in a lone accident that occurred in Gbongan, Osun State, along Gbongan-Ibadan expressway.
The road accident involving a Toyota Sienna private bus was reportedly caused by speed limit violation by the driver, leading to loss of control.
According to sources close to the scene, operatives of Osun State Ambulance Scheme and the Federal Road Safety Corps responded early to distress calls and evacuated the victims to a hospital in Gbongan.
The FRSC Osun spokesperson, Agnes Ogungbemi, who confirmed the accident, said it was caused by a speed limit violation and loss of control.
“It was a lone accident caused by speed limit violation leading to loss of control. 10 people, including; two male adults, one female adult, four male children, and three female children were injured. No life was lost in the accident.
“The injured victims were taken to a hospital in Gbongan, while effort is ongoing to move the crashed vehicle away from the scene,” Ogungbemi concluded.
