Nigerian Air Force Celebrates Annual BASA in Badagry

The 121 Forward Opérations Base, Nigerian Air Force, Ahanve, Badagry, on Friday celebrated the Base Socio-Cultural Activities (BASA) 2022 in grand style.
The Commander, Air Commodore Taiwo Ojo, said this was an occasion where officers and men gathered together to felicitate after some hard work from January to December.
According to him, the celebration is not only for the Air Force personnel  but also for their  colleagues in sister services as well as our host communities.
“This enables us to interact with them. Today, we have three traditional rulers from different Badagry communities and many Baales and high chiefs with us here.
“This has indicated that we have cordial relationship with them” he said.
Ojo commended President Muhammadu Buhari for providing enablement for the military to fight and defeat insurgency and banditry.
He thanked God and appreciated all dignitaries for finding time to grace the occasion.
The commander commended  the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, for giving tremendous support to the Unit.
He said the officers and men of the Base were pledging their unalloyed loyalty to the president through their Chief of Air Staff.
At thee Base Socio-Cultural Activities (BASA) event, Ojo urged officers and men to keep doing what they are doing well, which is providing security for Nigeria.
The commander said kudos should go to the Chief of Air Staff that providing the enablement for them to do it
According to the commander, the Chief of Air Staff provided fund and materials for the celebration.
“As we are celebrating here in Badagry today, they are celebrating in all Nigerian Air Force Bases in Nigeria.
“So, kudos goes to him and we also reciprocate by inviting all our neighbors and host communities to join us in celebration,” he said.
The Alapa of Apa kingdom, Oba Adekanmi Oyekan, said the Commander had maintained peaceful coexistence between his men and the host communities.
Alapa commended the commander for working with other security agencies to reduce illegal checkpoints in the area.
He prayed that God would continue to protect him throughout his stay in Badagry.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that awards were presented to two outstanding officers while the invited traditional rulers and chiefs were presented with gifts.
 Other traditional rulers at the event include the Aholu of Ajido land, Aholu Saheed Adamson and Aholu Sanu of Ikoga-Zebbe, alongside many chiefs.
