PVCs: INEC Takes Delivery of Additional 39 Cartons of PVCs in Edo

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Edo Office,
said it had received additional 39 cartons of new Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) from its headquarters in Abuja.

The Head, Voter Education and Publicity of the office, Mr Timidi Wariowei, told newsmen in Benin that with the additional delivery, everybody who registered during the last continuous voters registration could now get their PVCs.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports INEC had earlier announced Dec. 12 to Jan. 22, 2023 as dates for the collection of the cards nationwide.

INEC also announced that PVC collection would be moved to registration areas and electoral wards from Jan. 6 to 15 for those who were unable to collect theirs at INEC LGA offices

After that, the exercise will revert to the commission’s local government offices till Jan. 22, 2023

Wariowei, who gave the daily update of PVCs collected on Thursday, said a total number 2,670 PVCs were given to their owners across the 18 local government areas of the state.

He said Ikpoba Okha LGA topped the list with the highest collection of 633, followed by Oredo, 397; Etsako West, 255; Egor, 214; Esan North East, 187 and Esan Central, 140.

Others included, Akoko Edo 50, Egor 214 and South East 68, Esan West 72, Etsako East 56, and Igueben 47.

The remaining LGAs where collection of  PVCs took place on Thursday were Orhionmwon 127, Ovia North East 99, Ovia South West 94, Owan East 31, Owan West 49 and Uhunmwode 89.

According to him, the collection of PVCs is ongoing in every LGA office of INEC from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. everyday, including weekend.
