Breaking: NAFDAC impounds tomato pastes, sardines with fake NAFDAC numbers

By Chioma Obinagwam

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) says it has impounded tomato pastes and sardines with fake NAFDAC numbers.

Confiance News gathered from the Acting Director General (DG) of NAFDAC, Dr. Monica Eimunjeze on Wednesday.

Speaking during the media sensitisation workshop on “dangers of bleaching creams and regulatory control”, the Acting DG disclosed that the tomato pastes and sardines were impounded on Tuesday at a warehouse situated in Lagos.

She added that some of the impounded items do not have NAFDAC numbers on them.

Royal IV, Ricci, St. Rita, Lena, St. Annes, Royal Tesmen, La Bon, Mr 2, Estus, and Mumrite are some of the impounded products.
