The Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Youth Development, Comrade Dele Akpatashi has described the combination of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the Presidential candidate and Vice Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic party (PDP) in the forth coming general elections as a beacon of hope for the Nigerian nation.
Akpatashi stated this in an interview with journalists in Agbor, the administrative headquarters of Ika South local government area of the State during the visit of the State PDP Youth leader, Comrade Victor Egbo to the area.
According to him, the emergence of the duo as presidential and vice presidential flagbearers of the party in the 2023 general elections, has reawakened the hope of the Nigerian youths whom he said, are now better composed, focused and determined to work for the party (PDP) and thus; “rescue Nigeria from its current maladministration and economic challenge.
He said that Nigerian youths are already in a hurry to wrestle power with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) through their votes and return power to the PDP.
The Governor’s aide, while bemoaning what he described as “the gross maladministration of the APC government in the country”, noted that the only way Nigerians, particularly the youths and the elderly can smile again is a radical and deliberate decision by Nigerians to rise up to the task of voting against the party, APC in the forth coming general elections.
He expressed optimism that the emergence of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate of the PDP and his running mate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, remain a beacon of hope for the Nigerian nation in relation to its anticipated economic revival, unity, peace and security.
While calling on Nigerian youths to sustain their support for the party and, particularly the candidature of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, the Governor’s aide said, “the rescue Nigeria project should be seen as a collective assignment”.
