The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has emerged as the new Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum. He is an ally of the aggrieved Rivers State Governor, Barr. Nyesom Wike.

metrowatchxtra understands that Makinde emerged as the new Govs’ Forum chairman minutes after the former occupant of the seat, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, resigned from the post earlier today.

The Oyo Governor was named as the new chairman at the ongoing National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the opposition party holding in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The resignation of Tambuwal and that of BoT Chairman Walid Jibrin, are on the heels of complaints about lopsidedness between the North and the South in the hierarchy of the PDP, ahead the 2023 polls.
