The Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) of Allied and Education Institutions and the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU), on Saturday (today), announced the suspension of their strike.
According to reports, the university-based unions suspended their months-long industrial action for two months (sixty days) after a meeting with the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu in Abuja.
The suspension is expected to take effect from Wednesday 24th August, 2022.
According to the education minister, the Federal Government has committed N50 billion to pay earned allowances for members of SSANU, NASU and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
